One third of Alberta's population depends on the Bow River for water. Considering its critical importance, the BRBC is compiling practical, accurate and up-to-date information on the quantity and quality of the water in the Bow. The report will explore how people use the river basin, examining drinking water, agriculture, industry, recreation, waste disposal and hydropower generation.
The report will make recommendations for implementing beneficial management and stewardship practices and will be available on the web. It is intended that the document will facilitate decision-making on water issues in the Basin and will engage the general public, stakeholders and resource managers in joint discussion leading towards meaningful future improvements.
