Bow Riverkeeper Community Outreach and Education Program Mountain Parks Watershed Association Funded in 2003
The Bow Riverkeeper program is intended to build a stronger sense of community stewardship in Bow Valley residents. This outreach project will encourage Bow Valley residents to better understand aquatic ecosystems, water supply and water quality issues concerning the Bow River upstream of the confluence with the Kananaskis River. The Bow Riverkeeper will maintain a presence on the Bow and invite local residents to canoe the river with him to help conduct water quality monitoring. There will also be opportunities to take a tour through the local wastewater treatment plant, attend a presentation of aquatic ecosystem scientific research and receive a newsletter with ideas on how to conserve water at home.
