Volunteer Opportunities with Alberta Ecotrust Environmental Partners

In the interest of increasing the capacity of our environmental partner organizations, and offering our corporate partners and donors opportunities to engage their employees in environmental activities, we are posting some current opportunities for involvement.   If you or your employees are interested in volunteering in the environmental sector, please contact the following organizations directly.

WHO:    Clean Calgary Association

WHAT:  Clean Calgary Association seeks Volunteers for the June 18th Composter Sale Day

Every year, the City of Calgary Waste & Recycling Services and Clean Calgary Association partner to sell thousands of subsidized composters and compost aerators to Calgarians.  This is an extremely important initiative because more than 40% of our residential waste stream is organic matter.  It is extremely important to divert organics from landfill where they anaerobically decompose to create methane, a potent greenhouse gas.

Here is your big chance to further composting in Calgary!  Clean Calgary Association seeks volunteers to work at the eight sale locations around Calgary from 8am to 4pm (or until the composters sell out).  Tasks range from registering sales to unloading composters.

Please contact Sara Rainford at 230-1443 x222 or sj@cleancalgary.org if you would like to volunteer.
