But Is It Media?

According to a Maclean’s survey, youth today are getting their information from the Internet and not traditional media sources like newspaper and television. In the past, the newspaper business and the television industry had strong barriers to entry because of high entry costs. Large corporations were formed to raise capital required for purchasing printing and broadcasting equipment.
These corporations now spend thousands of dollars per day to cover news on websites. However, production costs have lowered drastically and the Internet turns anyone into a publisher. Public relations companies who previously concentrated their efforts on the mass media, are now creating their own media coverage that provides similar, branding and marketing services for clients.
On January 1st, dHz Media launched its own digital media coverage service. On New Year's Eve, our photographers mixed with the crowd at the Eau Claire Market, Calgary and took photos of the crowd and the 10 bands in five different locations. Over 700 attendees visited our website following the event and voluntarily provided their emails to see our 'media coverage'.
Companies are sprouting up, consisting of 3-4 professionals with the know-how to produce profitable media. One company produced their own Yoga DVD and quickly signed two international distribution deals. Other companies are creating compressed video on websites with same day posting. Another Vancouver company even adds their own on-camera personality. These companies are making a profit by producing media coverage that successfully drives traffic to websites.
What is surprsing is the return on investment. Marketing companies who spend $60,000 a year on website marketing are now realizing they can spend half that and receive twice the results. More and more production companies are creating their own media and using digital communication techniques to spread the word. Next day photo galleries, flyer handouts, email campaigns, fun, flattering photos and instant editing capabilities make this type of media an effective form of grassroots marketing.
How Does a Content Management System Like Xplorex Work?

A little known fact about the Internet is that 90% of website programming code is repetitive and easily replicated. Xplorex’s core development team spent the last five years identifying, grouping, and transforming, strings of repetitive code into automated and easy-to-use, ‘pre-programmed’ modules.
The advantage of Xplorex is that it allows anyone to build and manage their own website. Anyone who is familiar with point and click software and operating in an Internet environment will have no problem with Xplorex.
Xplorex's customizable features allow people with no knowledge of web programming to add or remove web pages, change the appearance, format, style and color of the website, and automate some manual tasks. Merging its vast library of pre-programmed modules has produced an efficient platform consisting of flexible, pre-developed tools.
By replicating repetitive code and constructing intelligent automated modules, Xplorex has mastered website programming for you. All you do is point and click.
