Film Company Launched to Develop Talent
in Pacific Northwest
- Ghostlight Cinemas Inc. completes
development on THE GHOSTWOODS-
February 15, 2005. Vancouver - a film company was launched today to develop and promote emerging talent from the Pacific Northwest. The aim of Ghostlight Cinema Inc.(GCI) is to produce profitable films while promoting local talent. GCI has completed initial development on its first film, THE GHOSTWOODS, written by actor Trevor Roberts and director Kody Zimmermann. THE GHOSTWOODS, is a psychological horror film centering on demonic possession and Man's most disturbing taboo.
Production schedules, business plan, and budgets have been finalized. Emerging talent from Vancouver and Portland are now signed to the project. This includes: PBS cinematographer Salvatore Collura, Emmy© nominated visual effects supervisor Eric Vaughn Myre, special effects make-up designer John Healy, and post-production supervisor, Murray Stiller.
Several of BC's successful young actors, including Eric Johnson, Curtis Bechdolt, Sarah Sawatsky, and Brooke Fader have signed letters of intent to star in the picture. GCI has also secured its central location on Vancouver Island.
GCI's management team now includes, Scott Henderson, a professional publicist enlisted to promote the film, and Albert Lim, certified accountant and Director of Finance. Lim's responsibilities include: overseeing the financial interests of the company and its motion pictures.
GCI recently announced that it has raised additional equity with the second installment of private investment. The company now has 32% of its financing in place. The production team is currently marketing the horror thriller to distributors in North America, Asia and Europe.
