Watermark Beach Resort Offers Nightly Rental Program
1000 feet of waterfront at luxury resort in Osoyoos now even more ‘Kid Friendly’
Osoyoos, BC (Aug. 1, 2007) Today, the $75 million dollar 4 star luxury Watermark Beach Resort confirmed that it will offer tourists nightly suite rentals, increasing value for Watermark property owners and distinguishing it from other properties in the South Okanagan. Recently, many properties in the Osoyoos area designated for weekly or monthly rentals have been renting by the night, forcing The Town of Osoyoos to monitor rentals more closely, and in some instances prosecuting condo owners caught ignoring the by-law regulation.
Watermark Beach Resort will be managed by the professional hotel management company Boutique Hotels & Resorts of British Columbia. The optional rental program offered by Boutique Hotels and Resorts provides Watermark owners the opportunity to generate revenue from nightly rentals.
In addition, Watermark also announced that its 1000 feet of sandy beach front is now officially, “Kid Friendly”, meaning that no boating will be permitted near or along the Watermark beach area, which will be clearly marked to protect swimming children.
Watermark’s announcements enable suite owners / investors to take full advantage of Osoyoos’ booming tourist economy. With the number of annual visitors expected to increase to half a million and with over a quarter-billion dollars in new Osoyoos developments coming on the market, demand for premium property and luxury resorts like Watermark is expected to rapidly increase as summer nears a close. Watermark’s planned conference facility will also be the largest of its kind in the Osoyoos Oliver region, and will be an “off season” room night driver, giving Watermark’s suite owners the best opportunity in the region to realize room revenue from conference business during non peak seasons.
James Askew, president of rareEarth Project Marketing, the real estate group hired to represent Watermark, says that “the time to buy in Osoyoos is now. We believe by offering nightly suite rentals, Watermark provides superior investment value and revenue generation opportunity for our buyers”. Askew also says that “being kid friendly was important to us, because like Osoyoos, Watermark is first and foremost a family-centric resort, making it one of the most sought after Okanagan properties.”
Watermark is a four-star, four story, waterfront resort comprised of 123 whole ownership condominium suites and 30 beachfront residences. 85% of Watermark suites provide views overlooking Canada’s warmest lake, and the remaining suites enjoying sunset mountain views.
Watermark offers an unparalleled opportunity for buyers, with prices ranging from the mid $300,000’s for a fully furnished one bedroom suite to the mid $500,000’s for a fully furnished two bedroom suite overlooking the lake. Compared to developments elsewhere in Osoyoos, Watermark remains one of the few properties offering unparalleled luxury with a quality of beachfront and resort amenity programming rarely seen in the Okanagan for comparable properties.
Being one of the largest resorts operating in the South Okanagan, Watermark rests along the shoreline of Lake Osoyoos, in the heart of Canada's premier wine growing region. Watermark features many amenities, including retail boutique store fronts along Main Street’s north/south promenade, an upscale restaurant and patio, an elegant pool-side wine and tapas bar, a health club/spa, and a 150-200 seat conference centre.
One of the first luxury resorts to recognize the recreational future of Osoyoos and the South Okanagan, Watermark’s many amenities and conference centre facilities will create year-round tourism revenue generating opportunities for its buyers. Often referred to as the “Napa of the North”, Osoyoos is nestled in the heart of the south Okanagan, on the border with Washington State, and only 400 km from Vancouver. Watermark Beach Resort is now currently under construction, and is scheduled for completion in Spring 2009. With 75% of Watermark’s vacation homes already sold the resort is expected to sell out by the end of the season.
