FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Manteo Waterfront Resort Buys Lakeshore Inn
Trend setting Mission District soon to be a vibrant resort Mecca

Aug. 3, 2007, Kelowna B.C. – The Manteo Waterfront Resort, Okanagan’s finest waterfront resort and hotel, announced today that it has purchased the Lakeshore Inn.  The Lakeshore Inn is the adjoining property, north of Manteo, next to Rotary Beach Park. The 46 room Inn, including lakeside pool and spa, was sold to the Rykon Group, owners of Manteo, by a Vancouver real estate investment company. Terms of the sale were not released.

Rykon has no immediate plans for the property, but it has just announced that it has hired resort real estate specialist rareEarth Project Marketing and together they are working on a luxury real estate opportunity. It is also working with the original Manteo architect of the Manteo Resort Hotel, Rob Ciccozzi of Vancouver’s Robert Ciccozzi Architecture.

Adrian Block, president and CEO, of the Rykon Group says, “When the Manteo Waterfront Hotel was introduced in 2000, it was an instant hit because of its location and attention to service.  The opportunity to purchase the Lakeshore Inn and possibly create more Manteo was too good to pass up.”

“It’s exciting to explore the possibilities, but we want to ensure any change to the Lakeshore Inn property is an improvement to our Waterfront Resort experience.  The Mission District is becoming a world class resort destination area with Manteo at the heart and any new plans will have to meet certain expectations of amenities and services that Manteo guests and members have come to expect.”

Currently Manteo has 102 rooms and villas where guests and members enjoy amenities including immediate access to private beach and marina, waterfront boardwalk, clubhouse, water slide, indoor/outdoor pools, movie theatre and fitness centre.

Ideal for corporate retreats and special events, Manteo Resort attracted the highest number of conferences by redefining the meaning of service.

Manteo’s own Wild Apple waterfront restaurant recently underwent a complete makeover and renovation valued at over $300,000 by Vancouver interior designer Tamara Bush who is responsible for décor in some of the world’s top 100 hotels. The Wild Apple was named the Okanagan’s finest place to dine, in an annual assessment of 500 restaurants throughout the Okanagan Valley by the B.C. Restaurant & Foodservice Association in 2005.

The Rykon Group has developed luxury condominium Sussex House in White Rock, and the high-end community South Bay Landing in the lower Mission neighborhood. It is currently developing the popular Sonama Pines in Westbank and has owned the Manteo property since 1994.
