On April 23 close to 200 students, school officials and business mentors gathered at Canad Inns Polo Park for LeaderCon 08 “Engaging the Next Generation”.
Chamber Encourages Members to Speak Up On Workers Compensation Coverage
Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Dave Angus is concerned that the provincial government seems intent on forcing Manitoba companies into paying workers compensation coverage.
In a letter to the business community Tom Farrell, Chair of the Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba states that the “Manitoba Government now intends to significantly increase workers compensation coverage.”
The Chamber is urging businesses that may be affected by the extension of coverage to provide written comments to the Workers Compensation Board by May 1, 2008.
