eCampusAlberta is pleased to welcome one new member of the Board of Directors and announce four other changes to steering committees beginning this fall. D. Joel Ward, the new President of Red Deer College, will join the Board of Directors, replacing the retiring Ron Woodward Sept. 1. Medicine Hat College President, Ralph Weeks, as Chair of the Board of Directors, will also serve as Chair of the Executive Committee of the Board. Olds College President and CEO, Tom Thompson, will join the Executive Committee. Grant MacEwan College President and CEO, Paul Byrne, will assume the role of Vice Chair of the Executive Committee and NAIT's Vice-President of Student Services, Bruce Belbin, will join the Management Committee. eCampusAlberta, BCcampus and Alberta-North are sharing resources to offer online professional development (PD) sessions to faculty and staff at members of all three organizations, with the goal of better serving students in Alberta, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories. The first session, Engaging Students through Technology: Using Elluminate Live!, Moodle, Blackboard/WebCT and Angel to Liven Your Lessons, will be held September 8.More
SAIT’s newly developed .NET Certificate of Achievement program is expected to be offered online through eCampusAlberta beginning in January, 2010. The program teaches students the skills and knowledge they need to develop new software applications using the latest version of the Microsoft .NET Platform. More
