Invitation to Join Strategic Planning Workshop: Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI) Committee
The goal of the Recycling Council of Alberta's ICI Committee is to encourage and assist the ICI and C&D sectors to responsibly manage their waste stream, assume product stewardship, increase recycled content and conserve resources.
Dundee Realty Management Corporation (Dundee Realty) has recently begun working with Clean Calgary Association. Their specific focus is with the Commercial Environmental Services program to conduct Waste Measurement Toolkit Assessments at their facilities. There will be 18 facilities that receive the Waste Assessment. As well, Dundee Realty will be working with our Education program to receive several Waste at Work presentations at these facilities.

Clean Calgary staff have been overjoyed with the flood of donated renovation products, services and fabulous volunteer time. That being said, there is still work to be done and we’d love your help!
We are eagerly seeking the following display pieces:
* Due to our increasingly limited space and specific needs, it is essential that items are not simply dropped off without first contacting The EcoStore Manager. Please kindly email or phone Paula at or 403.230.1443 ext 224.
- One or two mannequins
- Junk-tique hutches or armoires
- Funky wall clock
- Small baby cradle
- Small chalkboard in wooden frame
- Wicker baskets and old wooden crates; various shapes and sizes
- Wooden coat rack
- Beach rocks
- Drift wood; all sizes
- Tabletop pedestal mirror
- 4 or 5 tree stumps in good repair, no larger than 3 ft tall
- Antique looking chairs
- Antique looking side tables
In addition, we are in need of the following handy volunteers:
- Experienced baseboard installer (70 linear ft)
- Experienced metal flooring transition installer (60 linear ft)

Hand Sanitizers and Antibacterials – Who Needs Them?

Dear Ashley,
With the apparent "swine flu pandemic" upon us, a person cannot walk into any public space, drug store or shopping centre without being greeted by a bottle of hand sanitizer. On top of this we it seems like there are countless products on the market, which claim to kill 99.9% of germs; others labeled antibacterial; and still others that are impregnated with antimicrobial products, such as cutting boards and facial tissues. Are any of these products necessary to protect the health of my family and if so, which products are actually effective in preventing the spread of disease and illness?
