If you do not wish to receive future versions of Check-up, you may unsubscribe at the bottom of this page.
We have reached a turning point in the history of health care in Alberta. A watershed moment. Today, we are poised to move decisively from strategy to action on access and quality: to reduce wait times and implement the innovations that are making Alberta a national leader in health care. Action on SurgeryThe enhanced funding Alberta Health & Wellness will provide Alberta Health Services over the first three years of the five-year funding agreement is directly tied to strategic goals, including a dramatic reduction in surgery wait times. Last week, we jointly announced a six-week, $8M drive to reduce wait times by immediately increasing the number of surgeries in high priority areas. Action on EmergencyReducing Emergency Department wait times is a key strategic priority for Alberta Health Services. Measuring to ImproveThe Alberta Health Services Board recently approved its new “dashboard” of measurements designed to gauge performance and drive improvement throughout the health system.
