$600,000 announced for Online Curriculum Development Fund 6
eCampusAlberta is pleased to announce an additional $600,000 for the Online Curriculum Development Fund (OCDF). These funds have been made available by the Ministry of Advanced Education and Technology ($350K) and eCampusAlberta ($250K) for the purpose of increasing student access to online course offerings delivered through eCampusAlberta.
This is the second round of OCDF support funding to be offered during the 2009/10 academic year.
As with previous OCDF rounds, institutions are invited to submit new proposals for curriculum development projects that fit within the program band priority areas outlined in the Alberta Access Planning Framework. The Ministry priority areas for funding are: applied sciences; business/management; health and health sciences; trades and technology.
eCampusAlberta invites member institutions to re-submit already existing proposals that received no, or only partial, funding support in the previous OCDF 5. To re-submit a proposal from OCDF 5, please contact eCampusAlberta Quality Manager, Sheila Whitmore at sheila.whitmore@ecampusalberta.ca and indicate which proposal(s) are to be given consideration in OCDF 6. Additional proposal support documentation may be submitted at that time.
Projects that enhance collaboration among institutions on program offerings and/or those that indicate development efforts that facilitate credential completion efforts will be given funding priority.
eCampusAlberta employs a peer review process for its award determinations. For OCDF 6, a panel of six internal representatives will review the submissions and make recommendations to the eCampusAlberta Management Committee. Institutions awarded OCDF resources will be required to submit a project plan to Quality Manager, Sheila Whitmore one month after the OCDF 6 orientation session.
Please note that the review panel will endeavor to distribute the funds across the proposals in a manner that supports immediate development. As such, proposals may not receive full funding. Institutions are asked to consider this possibility when developing project proposals.
