"As in 2010, we have consolidated our previous multiple guides into one integrated book which provides our guests and potential guests with a comprehensive overview of the Thompson Okanagan," Walker-Matthews says. She adds that this year 110,000 copies will be printed for distribution throughout BC in Visitor Centres; tourism information booths; the BC Ferries system; to locations in Alberta, Washington state, Idaho and Oregon; as well as direct to consumers from their online requests. The Vacation Guide is also distributed at all travel and consumer shows attended or funded by TOTA. An overrun of the Guide's golf section will again be produced and inserted into WestJet's up! magazine in early 2011, as well as in Golf Style magazine and Pacific Northwest Golfer. "I encourage tourism stakeholders throughout the region to make sure your business is well-represented in our popular regional Guide," Walker-Matthews says. For more information about advertising opportunities, contact her at ematthews@totabc.com or 250-860-5999.

TOTA and Fjord West have commenced work on development of TOTA’s regional Fall consumer marketing campaign Keep watching for details of this integrated fall marketing campaign which will be shared with Thompson Okanagan Tourism stakeholders later in July. About Cossette/Fjord Thompson Okanagan Tourism has welcomed Fjord West, a division of leading international tourism marketing agency Cossette Inc., as its full-service agency in a unique partnership to develop cutting-edge digital marketing tools to promote the region to travellers. TOTA and Fjord West announced June 28 they have agreed to establish a joint venture to promote tourism in the Thompson Okanagan. The partnership goes beyond the commission, fee-for-service, performance-based compensation models, and ushers in a new way to market products and services in the digital age. The two organizations will immediately begin developing marketing and communications initiatives while working to launch a jointly owned entity that will create digital marketing opportunities for the region's travel and tourism industry. TOTA CEO Glenn Mandziuk says Fjord West was chosen for its extensive experience working in the tourism industry and for developing innovative marketing campaigns for provincial, regional and city destination marketing organizations. TOTA members will now be able to have access to a one-stop shop for digital marketing, design and development. "Going into our agency search, we understood that the best way to create value for our industry partners and grow tourism in the region would be to forge a deep partnership with the right agency, allowing us to engage a top-tier agency while maximizing our marketing budget through the creation of cutting-edge digital marketing platforms,” Mandziuk says. “In Fjord West we found an entrepreneurially minded world-class agency partner with deep travel and tourism knowledge who could help us execute on this vision.”
