CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
2011 Leadership Conference - May 19th & 20th, 2011
The Certified Management Accountants Society of BC (CMABC) invites proposals for our 2011 Leadership Conference -
a two-day Professional Development Conference on May 19th & 20th, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Vancouver, BC.

The Conference will assemble 400+ CMAs, students & business professionals to explore best practices, innovative solutions and tools for success. The Conference features keynote presentations and in-depth workshops, along with networking opportunities and social events.
Presentations must include one of the core competencies of
the CMA Competency Map while addressing topics relevant to business leaders and executives including, but not limited to:

DEVELOPING YOUR PRESENTATION
Certified Management Accountants (CMA) are strategic financial management professionals with accounting skills and leadership competencies in international competitiveness, market development, human resources management and information technologies.
Our conference attracts both repeat and new attendees year after year because it delivers valuable information that enhances attendees' knowledge and increases their value to the organizations they represent.
Presenters are expected to:

Meet all deadlines
-
Design a current, relevant presentation reflective of the competencies outlined above

Create an interactive presentation suited for audience size of 75 participants

Submit a summary of key presentation deliverables by due date (details below)

Retain the session content, audio/visual needs as originally submitted and understand that the CMA may choose to reproduce and distribute presentation materials to its attendees.

Not add a co-presenter or change the identity or number of presenters without the permission of the Conference Task Force Committee.

Provide high quality information by the date and in the format requested.

Honour the commitment to provide education by not showcasing or promoting the speaker's practice, services or products

Please note:

Subject to approval, selected presentations may be considered for other programs and offerings during the 2010/2011 education year. More details will follow after Conference Speakers are chosen.

Presenters of successful submissions will be required to confirm their participation shortly after being notified of their acceptance. Strict adherence to conference regulations is required.

The CMA BC Leadership Conference is not a platform for commercial sales, self-promotion or criticism of competitors.

Due to room, space and time restrictions, we have minimal ability to reconfigure rooms, tables, chairs and other equipment.

HOW DO I SUBMIT?
Submission Deadline: August 31st, 2010
Submit proposal to debbie@cmabc.com, subject line: Attn: CMA Conference Committee
Include the following details:

Preferred theme (from list above)

Presentation topic and title

Brief overview of lesson plan and learning activities

CV or resume
-
List of previous engagements with references/feedback

List of presentation requirements (AV, internet, etc)

Speaking Engagement Fee
Submissions will be adjudicated by the Professional Development Task Force that includes CMA members and CMA Staff.
Notification of Acceptance or Decline by the PD Task Force: October 15th, 2010
Notification of Presentation Date and Time: October 31st, 2010
Deadline for Submission of Final Presentation Materials: January 30th, 2011
