A recent survey of eCampusAlberta’s Alberta-North community access partners has provided significant information that will be valuable in determining future directions for the consortium. Following eCampusAlberta’s merger with Alberta-North in 2011, it was determined that a survey of stakeholders would be a constructive first step towards gathering information that will influence the future directions of the consortium. Two eCampusAlberta institutions have partnered to conduct a qualitative study focused on exploring interests, opportunities and readiness of Aboriginal adult learners and rural First Nations communities to engage with eLearning program delivery. The study, In Support of Expanding Educational Access – Via E-Learning to Rural Aboriginal Communities was conducted by Bow Valley College and NorQuest College. More
eCampusAlberta and the Community Learning Network (CLN) are working together to support community access facilitators. The two organizations formed a partnership in November 2011 that will see them work towards creating a shared repository of resources that will assist Community Access Point Coordinators and Community Adult Learning Councils in their work that supports rural learners.
