eCampusAlberta projects another increase in registrations for 2011/12

eCampusAlberta is projecting its eighth consecutive year of registration growth in 2011/12, with registration data from member institutions indicating more than 17,800 course registrations will be achieved for the year ending June 30, 2012. It was only two years ago, in 2009/10, that eCampusAlberta surpassed 10,000 registrations for the first time, to reach 13,107. If the projected 17,800 registrations are achieved for 2011/12, it will represent a 36 per cent increase in registrations over the past two years.  More

Online discussion shares wisdom, inspiration and practical advice for engaging Aboriginal learners

A recent online presentation delivered by The Honourable Dr. Thelma Chalifoux and made widely available through eCampusAlberta attracted nearly 80 participants from across the province – and the country – giving them the opportunity to engage in candid conversation with the respected Métis leader, educator and Elder. It was the first in a new online series called  Raising Awareness to Increase Aboriginal Participation in Post-Secondary Education. More

Help shape eCampusAlberta’s next Strategic Plan; complete an online survey today

eCampusAlberta is conducting a survey as part of its strategic planning cycle and all stakeholders are invited to help influence the consortium’s direction and activities for the 2012 to 2015 strategic plan. Additional consultation initiatives are underway and the plan will be developed for the beginning of the 2012/13 fiscal year. Online learning provides Airdrie mother the flexibility to pursue post-secondary courses

Dana Gable has always wanted to pursue post-secondary education, but shortly after enrolling in an on-campus program she learned she was expecting a baby and made the decision to put her education on hold. When her daughter was a year old, the Airdrie resident came across an ad for Bow Valley College’s Events Management certificate program offered online through eCampusAlberta. She decided this program would fit her needs and enrolled in September 2010.  More

Bow Valley College meets high demand for Medical Office Assistants with new online program

In the fall of 2011, Bow Valley College welcomed 20 students to its first online offering of the Medical Office Assistant certificate program through eCampusAlberta. The program prepares graduates to perform administrative duties – such as billing, filing and reception – as well as basic clinical skills in a medical agency. Industry demand for these professionals continues to increase each year.  More
