What happens when you visit a pedorthist at Paris Orthotics?

The Pedorthist will:
  • Review your prescription (We require a prescription from a Health Care Professional);
  • Ask about the history of your injury;
  • Give you a Clinical Biomechanical Exam (Including a Clinical Gait Exam and a Lower Extremity Orthopaedic Assessment);
  • Educate you about Orthoses and Biomechanics;
  • Design your Orthotics as prescribed by your Health Care Professional;
  • Take a Negative Impression of your foot (Neutral Suspension Cast Technique);
  • Suggest appropriate footwear and possibly footwear modifications (if required);
  • Dispense your Orthotics and answer any questions that you may have;
  • Make any necessary follow-up adjustments.

Pedorthists can design footwear and Orthoses to treat many biomechanical conditions, including those caused by neurological and systemic disorders.  The most common treatment conditions include Plantar Fasciitis, Arthritis, Metatarsalgia and Diabetes.
