The Strassburg Sock ®

The Strassburg Sock is a very effective, surprisingly comfortable and cost effective compliment to traditional plantar fasciitis treatment regimes. 

Conventional hard plastic night splints maintain tension on the fascia by holding the ankle at or near a neutral position.  The Strassburg Sock provides a more complete and specific tension on the plantar fascia by passively dorsiflexing the toes (and engaging the windless mechanism) as well as by holding the ankle in a neutral position.  Used in combination with a custom foot orthotic, anti-inflammatory and other conservative therapies, the Strassburg Sock night splint significantly improves clinical outcomes. 

Advantages of the Strassburg Sock include:

• A breathatble and washable tubular knit "sock" design that is comfortable enough to sleep in,
• A unique hook and loop adjustable strap design that dorsiflexes the toes as well as holds the foot in a neutral position, and
• No restriction of the ankle joint.

The Strassburg Sock is available in two sizes:  Adult Regular (up to 16" calf diameter) and Adult Large (>16" calf diameter).  A Pediatric version is also available for use in treating ankle equinus.
